Charles and Diana, Smith's Lawn, 27 June, 1987

from $50.00

Charles and Diana, Smith’s Lawn, Windsor Great Park, 27 June 1987.

After Charles’ polo games were over, the teams would line up in the middle of the field, and a rope would be brought out, with stewards using it to pull out a makeshift ring to hold back the spectators. It was all rather informal. Diana would present prizes to each participant and say a few words to each one. But what everyone waited to see was Diana presenting Charles with his trophy. A kiss was always guaranteed.

Reference No. 87R9-16
