for the ultimate print quality and longevity

All of my black and white prints taken on film are hand printed by me in my darkroom, using the original camera negative. Printing in a traditional darkroom is becoming quite rare these days; most photographers have sold their enlargers and closed up their darkrooms. However, there's an art to creating a black and white print that has been lost in digital printing. Each print is unique, even though several may be made from one negative. Rarely can you simply print a picture on demand; it often takes several attempts until the perfect print is produced. Darkroom printing forces you to slow down and be more careful about how you craft a print.

All prints are hand mounted and matted by myself- I am in charge of the entire process, from start to finish. Creating a fine art print is time consuming and takes several days from start to finish, but only by making them this way can I be sure that the original vision I had for each picture is carried out.

Please realize that you are viewing the photographs at 72 or 96 dots per inch (dpi), and your computer screen cannot show the real quality of the pictures, at least not on the internet. Some images have to be compressed so much that the way they look on your screen is far from the original. I guarantee the quality of each print; if you are not satisfied, return the print and I will refund your money. I want you to be happy with your purchase; in fifteen years of selling prints over the internet, I have never had a print returned. Some prints are not meant to be enlarged beyond 8x10 or 11x14 inches; if this is the case, I will advise you before I make your print.

Black and white photos are printed on Ilford fibre based paper, and hand coloured prints are printed on Kodak P-Max Art RC paper or Ilford Multifibre matte surface paper. Each print is mounted on archival mounting board and archivally matted. The print is then numbered, titled and signed by me.

Frames are not included in the price. I believe framing is a subjective decision and is best made by the purchaser.

Prints are limited to editions of 12 to 45 unless otherwise stated. Prices rise as the edition sells out:

10 inch photographs are limited to editions of 45.
14 inch photographs are limited to editions of 35.
20 inch photographs are limited to editions of 25.
24 inch photographs are limited to editions of 12.
